Playing For Change

In a world where every second thing is shallow, where it is so hard to find real people - in such a world as today's, it is my pleasure to write about the Playing For Change concept and  what it is doing. This is my contribution to this wonderful movement in my own, humble way.

It began when I chanced upon their video of "Stand By Me" in Facebook. After that, I have become a huge fan of this concept and hence sharing it here, in my blog.

Playing For Change (PFC) is about a 4-5 year old movement where musicians from around the globe come together, performing the same song, recreating music - all this done without ever meeting each other. They do it through a common platform where the PFC team goes from place to place using their mobile recording studio and compile the songs together.

For starters, you can watch the video attached to this post where Mark Johnson (creator of PFC) explains how PFC started and a bit of an introduction. The video also has their rendition of Bob Marley's One Love.

Kudos to the people behind this movement, and kudos to what they're doing. Change is what this world needs and there couldn't have been a better catalyst than music for this change.
